BRC was founded in 2004 by myself, Greg, and my partner David. We both grew up loving everyones favorite sandman and we had always wanted a glove that looked and felt as if it had fallen off the screen and onto our hands! After much experementation and research, we made friends with some startling people "in the know" who helped us achieve replicas that are made with the same materials and processes as the actual screen used hero gloves! Since then Vintage Stock Stores and other hobby enthusiast retailers have picked up our BoilerGloves for their shelves. With our local geek stores backing us and the word of mouth campaign thats suddenly spread like wildfire...

Fast foward to late 2009! Weve made our Home Online! Five years later and weve severely grown and professionalized our glove building processes for the ultimate in screen accuracy, without the heavy price tag! With the help of our new partner Chris, also a heavyweight nightmare fan, weve upped the ante so to speak. Between Greg and Chris's art backgrounds and David's metalworking experience, Boiler Room Creations is ready to take on the replica glove world! Find us online! From our little stores on www.ebay.com and www.horrorbid.com or be our friends on facebook or myspace. Twitter that, my lil' piggie!

  DONT FALL ASLEEP!

THE SPRINGWOOD SLASHERS FILE-01:

Whuddup Peoples?

So, I guess I really got into horror flicks in the fifth grade. I had accidentally seen Poltergeist when I was really young and about peed myself from the experience. After that I wasnt so sure about horror movies anymore...or clown dolls either! I decided, enuff with that, Frankenstein and Dracula are cool, but no more torso biting TV people please! Then in the fifth grade my best friend, Terry, invited me over for the night... Oh man, I was in for it! He LOVED horror movies and watched his brothers badly recorded VHS tapes all the time. He told me, you gotta see these man, they're awesome! (Knowing I hated horror flicks.) As you can imagine, I wasnt so keen on the whole idea and he was loving the fact...

So the first movie he happened to put in was Evil Dead 2. What I saw from between my fingers scared the crap outta me. But, there was Terry, laughin' and whoopin' it up like it was nothing. I think the fact that I could tell that he was scared and still having a great time, is what kept me from running for the hills! (I hear they have eyes anyways.) Just when I thought I couldn't take it anymore, he put on the next flick, Friday The 13TH VII. Ok, I admit, by the middle of Jason vs Tina, I was still scared but kinda digging it too! I was ready for more.

The next week I begged my Mom to let me rent Nightmare on Elm Street 4 the Dream Master from our local video store. My buddy had said that if I dug Jason, then I'd love Freddy. Little did he know... it would start a lifelong obsession! I was captivated. The whole idea, while scary, was very cool and alluring to me for some reason... especially his weapon of choice. I then realized that I had to do this thing right and go to the beginning and watch that first Nightmare on Elm Street. Honestly, it scared me half to death and with the -actual- nightmares to follow, I didnt sleep for a week! I couldn't even bear to see another horror movie again over the next few weeks. I had braved that fist Nightmare, alone... and in he dark. Not too smart, kiddo! Of coarse, I didnt see part 2 until I was reasonably safe hangin' out with Terry again. Thats all it took though, can you say hooked, Yo? Soon afterwards we had ourselves a three day Freddy & Jason marathon. I remember how great that was and the deal was officially sealed. I was a teenage horror fan! I started watching every splatterfest I could get my grubby lil' hands on, but Krueger was still king for me. No offence Ash, We still hail to you too, groovy? So anyways, I still have to blame Terry for my horror love to this day.

By seventh grade I was wearing my Freddy sweater to school everyday and drawing everyones favorite sandman, especially his glove...nonstop... all thru high school and beyond. (Dont worry, the sweater didnt follow suit.) By the time I was 15, I had built a Freddy Glove outta just about anything you could think of, from rubber yellow dish gloves and carboard with plastic knives to epoxied metal on jersygloves bladed with shish-ka-bob skewers. It became an obsession to own a replica glove that looked as if it had been screen used. When I turned 17, my roommate started selling Cutco knives and I quickly found out that the scissors worked very well on thin sheet metals. Thats all it took! I designed and built up my first real working glove outta metal siding with epoxied 6" saw blade bits attached to the fingers. (Which later were grinded down to a strait edge.) I didnt have the right materials in the first place so I just spray painted it copper and aged it with a Sharpie to 'look right'. Funny looking as it was, I was in love. Wore my Freddy Glove for two days strait with all my friends begging to try it on. At that point it was as good as it got.

Fast foward almost a decade later, after drawing and making so many gloves it would probably make your head spin, I decided to get into the glove biz. Years of friends and acquaintances demanding their own gloves and an offer of 500$ at a convention for one of my crappy replicas finally kicked my butt in gear. By then I was using copper and brass, but I decided it was time to get serious and take my gloves to the next level. Enter the Mo Dizzil, I wasnt the only one with this particular obsession!

I eventually got up all the tools and materials that we would need. With the motivation and metalworking skills of my fellow fredhead friend and soon to be partner, David, (The Dizzil) we began the extremely ardorous and sometimes painful task of learning to make -real- screen accurate gloves. Within a year of burns, blood, bruises, sweat and tears, we finally made major breakthroughs for great looking replicas! We started selling our babies thru word of mouth and then our local comicbook & movie/videogame stores. By the end of 2004, we had quit our day jobs and our gloves were selling all across the midwest. We evolved our craft and just got better with every glove ordered.

We are still ever evolving our designs and glove mechanics until the day we reach, what we consider to be, 'as close as it gets without a time machine and ninja monkey skills'. At the end of 2008, we met our new partner Chris, who has not only brought the sinister new look of our blades, but plenty of motivation and nightmare gusto with him to complete our lil' three man Trio of Terror Team.

In 2009, BRC finally made its new home here on the web! Were very appreciative and proud of everything and everyone that its taken to bring Boiler Room Creations to this point. (It's a 'nightmare' come true!) Theres a lot to be said for a consistent vision backed up by hard work, good people, determination, and The Greatest Horror Fans Out There! That said, we sincerely thank our La Coka Glovestra La Familia and look foward to BRC's Future!

A Very Special Thank You goes to Travis Cowsill, The Godfather of Razor Gloves and True Master at the Art of Glove Making. Without Travis, BRC would never made such huge strides in quality and craftsmanship on this long road of Accuracy to capture the true Screen used look of these one of a kind Replicas. It has been an Honor getting to know you and your friendship means the world to me. If you havent seen his new line of Definitive Edition Screen Accurate Gloves.... Wake up, because Freddy has a surprise for you!

WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE.
